SERVICES
Sea Scouts are part of Scouting and can be found in many countries around the world.
We are a co-ed group open to youth members aged 14-20 years old.
If you like boating, adventure, kayaking and having fun with friends - this is the place for you!
We would love to have you check out one of our weekly meetings.
We meet at Clyde Beach Park form 6:30-8:30pm most Thursday nights from April to October.
There is a long rich history of Sea Scouting on the Salish Sea!
Every Ship had a boat with their name on it. Sea Scout ships carried the name of their organization on their boat, making life easy.
Years ago, when Sea Scouting was in its heyday there were easily 20-30 active ships in the area. Here are the legacy names of successful ships in the greater Seattle area. Many of the lesser ones have been omitted. Regattas at Sand Point Naval Air Station routinely had 700-900 Sea Scouts attending.
Yankee Clipper 85 years, Propeller 75 years, Argo 65 years, Santa Maria, Challenger, Adventurous, Chinook, Sinclair, North Star, Poseidon, Whidby, Discovery, Wanderlust, Clueless, Highliner, Crusader, Curtis, Oddisee, 23 Skidoo, William G Long, Adventure, Viking, Orca, Reliant, Constellation, Kelcema, Ray Gillespie, John Paul Jones, Sea Wolf, Endeavor, ---- the list goes on!
In the past as ships shut down, we inherited their boats if they were better than ours. 20 years ago, the Argo was 45 years of wood having to constantly be rebuilt. She finally had to go and we took on the Challenger. Same Argo crew but our boat has a different name.
If you ask any Sea Scout, old or new, what ship are they from? Their eyes brighten and they firmly tell you!
We are Argonauts, always will be, and so will the 100's of Argonauts that surround us, a proud 65 years of active scouting and shipmates. Ask any scout and see what they say. We are proud to be from the Argo, Ship 451, it's a deeply rooted maritime tradition.
We are the Argo- we invite you to join us!
